How to Submit: Two Writers Share Their Experience with Submissions, Rejections, and (Sometimes) Publications
Thursday, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
November 1
West Side Eatery, 2 Bridge Ave, Red Bank
with Eileen Toomey and Liz Jannuzzi

Do you have a finished piece that you think is ready for publication, but you don’t know where to submit it? Or maybe you’ve heard about the publication process, but you’re not sure where to begin? Or perhaps you’re not sure why you should even try to publish? Then, this workshop is for you! Two Project Write Now students, Eileen Toomey and Liz Jannuzzi, with several published pieces between them, will share their experience with submitting for publication. They will detail:

  • why they decided to submit
  • where to find contests and calls for submissions
  • how to create a Submittable account with a live demonstration
  • cover letters and bios
  • mistakes they’ve made and lesson they’ve learned
  • why they (sort of) celebrate rejections

Join us for this informative, interactive workshop as we discuss all things submissions. This workshop is available free of charge, but we are asking for a $25 donation to support Project Write Now’s community outreach programs.

This workshop is FULL. Please email to find out about future How to Submit workshops.
