FOUR WEEKS
July 16 – August 6
PWN Studio
with Jennifer Chauhan

Looking for something different to inspire your writing this summer? Join us for this four-week course as we explore the visual arts (photography, paintings, sculptures, and more) to open up new pathways and insights into our writing. We cross genres (fiction, nonfiction, and poetry) as we write in response to artwork (aka ekphrastic writing) and see what emerges when we let our creativity flow. We also look at what artwork can teach us about narrative techniques—characterization, voice, setting, figurative language, and more. This course is designed for writers at all stages—whether you are looking to reinvigorate your process, generate new material, or deepen pieces you are currently working on. The last class will be held at a creative space, such as an art gallery (location TBD).
*No prior writing or art experience necessary.
