Characters for the Stage with Jim DeVivo
Thursdays, July 6 – August 10
4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Explore the process of writing a story for the stage. We begin by using a variety of sensory prompts to create and develop an original character. Through acting and writing exercises, we then craft a monologue that reveals a moment from the character’s life using narrative storytelling techniques. As a play is meant to be heard, we spend time reading the monologues aloud, revising and practicing for a performance (tentative date Wed., Sept. 6, at 6 p.m. at Voices & Verse).

To sign up for Characters for the Stage, please email Lisa Hartsgrove at lisah@projectwritenow.org as soon as possible and have your parent/guardian sign this permission slip.
