Editorial Services

Editorial Recommendations · Trusted Partners

Sometimes the work needs another set of eyes.

Project Write Now doesn’t offer editorial services directly—but we’ve spent years working alongside some of the most gifted editors and story consultants in the business. The editors below are people we know, trust, and recommend without reservation. Each has worked closely with the PWN community, and each brings something distinct to the table. Wherever you are in your process, you’re in good hands with any of them.

Please reach out to these editors directly to work together.

Connie Chaplan

Connie Chaplan is an editor who is skilled at helping people shape their writing to organize and express ideas, tell stories, inspire, and persuade. She works with students and young adults with a wide range of learning styles who are applying to college, graduate school, or for scholarship funding. Editing application materials is her superpower. Connie recently moved to NJ from Seattle where she spent 25 years providing editorial support for researchers and nonprofit organizations doing good work in the fields of public health, global health, public policy, and education research. She has worked as a teacher, a researcher, and as an in-house editor at policy journals and a nationally distributed outdoor magazine. Connie has a master’s in public administration with a focus on nonprofit management and a certificate in editing from the University of Washington. www.conniechaplan.com

Caitlin Flanigan

Development Editor · book inc Founding Member

Caitlin Flanigan is an emerging developmental editor specializing in character-driven commercial and upmarket fiction. Since 2018, she’s provided constructive critique, beta reading, and developmental feedback to fellow writers through the Project Write Now community, where she was a member of the inaugural Novel Incubator and is currently developing her third manuscript. She has firsthand experience with the challenges and rewards of developing a novel over multiple drafts and knows that thoughtful reader feedback can be the necessary catalyst for story growth.

She holds a master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and works as a pediatric speech-language pathologist in private practice. Her editorial approach is collaborative and author-centered, shaped by the same principles she brings to clinical work. As an editorial partner, she focuses on thoughtful reading and listening, individualized feedback, and a collaborative approach that respects the author as the expert on their story. She’s a member of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association (WFWA) and is particularly drawn to women’s fiction, romance, romantasy, thriller, suspense, mystery, family sagas, and intergenerational stories. Lizzie Finn

Lizzie FinnA New Jersey native, Lizzie Finn is a writer, director, and producer who launched her career in the East Coast independent film scene. She has filled crew roles on films produced by Kevin Smith’s View Askew Productions and was hired by Tapestry TV as a segment writer on Discovery’s Emmy-winning series Greatest Inventions with Bill Nye. She is currently Development Director for Last Stop Productions.

As a story consultant, Lizzie uses the Gateless Writing methodology—rooted in neuroscience—to nurture each writer’s intuitive gifts and help them access a state of flow. Her approach builds writers up rather than tearing the writing down, which means less block, less resistance, and more of the work that only you can make.

Lizzie serves as our story consultant for the book inc Book Revision Lab, bringing her distinctive screen-to-page sensibility to long-form prose revision. Visit Lizzie Finn Writes.
