Eileen Whitener

Eileen Whitener

Biography

Eileen is a technical writer for a local software company with a background in fiction and English instruction. She’s been a member of numerous writers’ groups and workshops, beginning as a teen participant at Alpha, the Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Workshop for Young Writers. She believes in the power of storytelling to be generative, restorative, and exploratory; she also enjoys watching authors uncover themes and threads as they prepare work for a larger audience. Having worked with writers who write in many different genres and for many audiences, she focuses on cultivating a workshop environment where writers feel encouraged to tell the stories they want to tell. She collects postcards and dabbles in songwriting as an occasional lyricist for her musician husband. Eileen has an MAT in English and Education from Bard College and a BA in Literature and the Written Arts also from Bard.
