
Meredith Z. Avakian
Biography
Meredith Z. Avakian is a writer, spoken word poet, keynote speaker, storyteller, conscious communications coach and consultant, as well as the author of Propaganda Begins with PR: Poetry for the Soul and PRhyme Time: Power of Poetry. She spent the first dozen years of her career working for two prestigious organizations: DuPont—where she held a variety of positions ranging from editor of the company’s daily global online newsletter to speechwriter for executives to corporate spokesperson—and the Philadelphia Bar Association—where she worked as director of communications and marketing, overseeing its media relations and external communications. Her writing has been published by The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Lawyer, and philly.com. Her poetry has been published in The Armenian Mirror-Spectator, The Armenian Poetry Project, The Literary Groong, and in several of Moonstone Arts’ Poetry Ink chapbooks. Meredith’s writing largely focuses on self-reflection, transformation, history, justice, community, and humanity. She has recited her poetry all over the world and looks forward to completing her third book later this year. Meredith received her Bachelor’s degree in public relations from Temple University, where she also served as president of the school’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. After spending nearly 20 years in Philadelphia, Meredith returned home to the Jersey Shore and currently resides in Asbury Park.
