Description
(Adults/Teens)
Join us on the last Tuesday of select months to discuss a middle grade novel. This genre offers a great study in plots that spark empathy and interest, often without the literary gymnastics that adult genres might display. This simpler form, designed to catch and hold the attention of a younger audience, teaches us writers how to craft compelling stories with alive-on-the-page characters. Books must be acquired on one’s own.
February 23: The List of Things That Will Not Change, by Rebecca Stead
March 30: Hurricane Season, by Nicole Melleby
April 27: The Dreamer, by Pam Muñoz Ryan
May 25: Stella By Starlight, by Sharon M. Draper
June 29: Hazel’s Theory of Evolution, by Lisa Jenn Bigelow
