Whether you already have a passion for—or have always wanted to try—writing poetry, this workshop is for you! Poetry has the ability to convey our deepest emotions, generating empathy by revealing the truth of our experiences. Together, we look at published poems to explore how poets connect—through language, structure, and theme—with their readers. Then we strengthen our own creative abilities by generating and revising original pieces. The goal is to produce a body of work that moves you to a new understanding of your obsessions and talents as a writer. Be inspired by your fellow teen writers while being a part of a supportive community.
