Do you have a cringe-worthy story to tell? Are you ready to tell it in front of a live audience during PWN’s CringeFest III?
Then pitch it to us!
For CringeFest III, we are looking for you to perform a three- to five-minute story about a truly embarrassing or mortifying moment in your life. We prefer stories from your younger years but are open to more recent experiences. You can either tell the story or read from your diaries/journals/letters, etc.
Some examples of topics from past performances include:
- A date gone wrong because of a wardrobe malfunction
- Reading from middle school diaries about an obsession with kissing
- What happens when an artist wants to make a mold of her nether regions
To pitch your idea, email executive director Jennifer Chauhan at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please put CRINGEFEST III PITCH in subject and share a short synopsis of your story. If selected, Jennifer will reach out to you to discuss further.
If selected, you will work with Jennifer, who will help you shape the story to be performed. We ask that you be open to this revision process, as the entire show is curated and directed. You must also be available for at least two rehearsals.
This year’s CringeFest III will take place on Tuesday, February 25, at Red Tank Brewing Company in Red Bank. We are also planning a second showing at Porta in Asbury Park on March 3. You must be able to perform at both shows.
If you have any questions, please email Jennifer Chauhan at email@example.com.
And please know that you are embarrassing yourself for a good cause! All proceeds from the event support our outreach programs. Learn more about our outreach.
