Description
Book Blueprint
Build a foundation for your memoir or novel.
Do you have an idea for a memoir or a novel, but you’re not sure how to develop it? Or maybe you started writing a book but hit a wall halfway through. Or you have a complete draft but don’t know where to focus revision efforts. During this class, based on the Author Accelerator “Blueprint for a Book” method, you assess, refine, and improve your ideas and works-in-progress by exploring the fundamental elements universal to all good stories. You gain a greater understanding of the point of the story and how to ensure your plot, characters, and setting all contribute to that meaning. By the end of class, you have a workable blueprint, including a full outline, to guide your drafting and revision and move your story forward.
Testimonial:
“Natasha’s class was great. I loved all the information she shared. She was supportive and wanted everyone to chime in and was so honest and knowledgeable about the craft. Book Blueprint is great for writers who don’t know where to start and need a foundation for their book.”
Meet Your Instructor: Natasha de Carvalho
“Being able to write isn’t the same as being able to tell a good story. Once I understood this and turned my attention to understanding and applying the fundamental elements of storytelling, I was finally able to finish drafting my first book—a lifelong dream. It’s my mission to help other writers by coaching them to a place of absolute clarity and understanding about the story they are trying to tell, so they can get it on the page.”

Our organization was founded to help amplify the voices of those who are often not heard—including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other historically marginalized groups. We have witnessed how writing and sharing stories has the power to effect change by generating greater love, compassion, and empathy in the listener. In all of our programs, we provide an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment. We do not tolerate writing that perpetuates harmful stereotypes or fuels hate. Failure to align with our philosophy can result in your removal from class.
