Do you have opinions you want to share with a wider audience to effect change? In our rapidly changing world, writers who can help make sense of it are more important than ever. This class is designed to give you the skills and tools you need to weave facts with your personal insights in a powerful way. We explore how to take a nugget of a concept and build it out into a full-fledged narrative. We also incorporate other techniques—creating a strong lead that opens your piece and grabs your readers’ attention, toggling between an A and B story, and exploring the most persuasive ideas—to add complexity and depth to your writing. Join us as we craft Op-Ed pieces, letters to the editor, blog posts, and more. Bring your ideas, your open mind, and your sense of adventure.
Please note: This class is taught through Zoom video conferencing. Your instructor will email a link before the first class. If you have any questions about how to use Zoom, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
