Shatiera Porte’e, is a proud Red Bank, New Jersey, native who has been working in the mental health and education fields for almost two decades. Affectionately known as “your favorite school counselor,” Shatiera has turned her life’s adversities into empowerment lessons and now empowers others by sharing her story and the tools she used to overcome challenges to find herself. Shatiera is the author of the self-help book I Forgive Myself for Forgetting Myself. To further facilitate a space of encouragement, Shatiera has created and optimized more than a dozen initiatives for businesses/communities empowering youth, extensive experiences in various counseling capacities, corrections, emergency crisis and psychiatric screening services. Shatiera’s philosophy “counseling beyond the classroom” stems from her desire to support individuals toward mental health wellness in a non-traditional approach. Shatiera travels the world speaking and hosting workshops and events promoting self-love, self-discovery and self-empowerment, and thus founded School Counselor On Wheels, LLC. Shatiera loves spending time with her son and her dog, Bailey Bella. She enjoys cooking, creating new recipes, which includes finding new places to travel, becoming an international foodie. She enjoys dancing while listening to her favorite selections of 90s music. Shatiera is working diligently to one day establish her own international mentoring program helping young girls and women all over the world to become the visionary over their lives, manifest desired dreams, while working towards making them a reality.
Mannikka Rosa is the founder and creator of The Educationalist Method, an educational consulting company. She brings over fifteen years of teaching experience to her work as an instructor at Project Write Now. As a former emotional and learning disabilities teacher, student government advisor, service learning coordinator, new teacher lead mentor, and curriculum designer, she has extensive background in the field of education and child development. Her philosophy with T.E.M. (The Educationalist Method) is to help teachers gain access to the genius that is hidden inside of every student by building safe learning communities. Her method is simple: if we use music and movement—specifically Hip Hop culture which is undeniably the language of the youth—in the classroom, we are better able to reach our students in authentic and vulnerable ways. She currently lives in Fair Haven, NJ, with her husband, three kids Brielle (11), Milllie (5), Myles (2), and their Havanese poodle, Dashie (2).

Our organization was founded to help amplify the voices of those who are often not heard—including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other historically marginalized groups. We have witnessed how writing and sharing stories has the power to effect change by generating greater love, compassion, and empathy in the listener. In all of our programs, we provide an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment. We do not tolerate writing that perpetuates harmful stereotypes or fuels hate. Failure to align with our philosophy can result in your removal from class.
