
Project Write Now kicks off its 2nd Annual Visiting Writers Series on October 27, 2018, with a Master Class led by Susan Scarf Merrell, acclaimed novelist and author of short fiction and essays, whose work has appeared in numerous literary journals.

Susan Scarf Merrell’s books include A Member of the Family, The Accidental Bond: How Sibling Connections Influence Adult Relationships, and, most recently, Shirley: A Novel, a literary thriller being adapted as a feature film starring Elisabeth Moss and Robert Stuhlbarg. She directs the Southampton Writers Conference, teaches in the MFA program in Creative Writing & Literature at Stony Brook Southampton, and is program director (along with Meg Wolitzer) of Book Ends, the year-long novel-development program.
During her Master Class, Merrell will offer a workshop on structure for writers working on book-length manuscripts, emphasizing practical techniques such as reverse outlining and beats to aid in the revision process.
