“And time yet for a hundred indecisions and for a hundred visions and revisions before the taking of toast and tea.” – T.S. Eliot
Unsurprisingly, T.S. Eliot was not wrong. As most writers know, revision takes up the bulk of writing time. Join New York Times bestselling picture book author Beth Ferry as she shares tips for evaluating and revising your manuscript. As she discusses the idea of the big-picture edit and the little-picture edit, she gives you questions to ask of yourself and your work as you enter the revision process to help you critically assess your work-in-progress. She also explains editorial letters, line edits, and copy edits. At the end, there will be time for a Q&A session.
Beth Ferry is the author of more than 20 books for young readers, including Stick and Stone, Ten Rules of the Birthday Wish, and The Scarecrow. She is a big fan of word play, which is often reflected in her writing. In addition to picture books, Beth has begun writing graphic novels for emerging readers, the first of which, Fox & Rabbit, came out in April 2020. You can learn more at bethferry.com. Beth lives with her family by the beach in New Jersey, where she finds inspiration in the salty air.
